Interior Light Test 2A - Courtesy Light Inoperative With Any Door

NOTE: Perform INTERIOR LIGHT TEST 1A  before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification, refer to CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  For wiring diagrams, refer to WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Perform, after each repair, TEST VER-1A - VERIFICATION PROCEDURE  .
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
  1. If vehicle is Sebring Convertible, go to INTERIOR LIGHT TEST 2C  . If vehicle is Breeze, Cirrus and Stratus, ensure dome light switch is in the middle position before proceeding. Using scan tool, actuate courtesy light. If courtesy light comes on, go to step 6). If courtesy light does not come on, go to next step.
  2. Stop courtesy light actuation. Locate junction block 6-pin connector below horn relay. Do not disconnect connector. See Figure in CHIME TEST 3A. Using external voltmeter, measure voltage be tween ground and terminal No. 6 (Pink wire) on junction block 6-pin connector. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is 10 volts or less, replace junction block.
  3. Using external voltmeter, measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 3 (Yellow wire) on junction block 6-pin connector. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to INTERIOR LIGHT TEST 2B  . If voltage is 10 volts or less, go to next step.
  4. Disconnect dome light 3-pin connector and ensure connector is clean and not damaged. Inspect dome light bulb. Replace as needed. If dome light bulb is okay, go to next step.
  5. Using external voltmeter, measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 2 (Pink wire) on dome light 3-pin connector. If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair open in Pink wire. If voltage is more than 10 volts, repair open in Yellow wire (terminal No. 3).
  6. Stop courtesy light actuation. Open left front door. Using scan tool, read left front door ajar switch status. If scan tool displays LF DOOR AJAR: CLOSED, replace BCM. If scan tool does not display LF DOOR AJAR: CLOSED, go to DOOR AJAR TEST 3A  .
