Interior Light Test 2C - Courtesy Light Inoperative With Any Door
NOTE:
Perform INTERIOR LIGHT TEST 2A
before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification, refer to CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION
For wiring diagrams, refer to WIRING DIAGRAMS
. Perform, after each repair, TEST VER-1A - VERIFICATION PROCEDURE
.
- Using scan tool, actuate courtesy lights. If courtesy lights illuminate, go to INTERIOR LIGHT TEST 2D . If courtesy lights do not illuminate, go to next step.
- Stop actuation. Remove courtesy light relay harness connector. Relay is located above brake pedal. Using voltmeter, measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 4 (Pink wire) on courtesy light relay harness connector. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair open Pink wire between relay and junction block.
- Using voltmeter, measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 8 (Yellow wire) on courtesy light relay harness connector. If voltage is more than 9 volts, go to next step. If voltage is 9 volts or less, repair open Yellow wire.
- Using external ohmmeter, measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 2 (Black wire) on courtesy light relay harness connector. If resistance is less than 10 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 10 ohms or greater, repair open Black wire.
- Connect test light between terminals No. 4 and 6 on courtesy light relay harness connector. Using scan tool, actuate courtesy lights. If test light illuminates, replace courtesy light relay. If test light does not illuminate, go to next step.
- Connect courtesy light relay. Using external voltmeter, backprobe junction block 6-pin connector. See Figure in CHIME TEST 3A. Measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 1 (Brown/Light Green wire). If voltage is 9 volts or less, repair open Brown/Light Green wire. If voltage is greater than 9 volts, replace Body Control Module (BCM). BCM is mounted to junction block. See Figure in CHIME TEST 2A.
