Replacing Control Unit For Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC)

- If the control unit is replaced, the control unit must be coded using PIWIS Tester II 9818 . This adapts the control unit to the vehicle and equipment.
- Before removing and replacing the control unit, the vehicle data should be read out (if possible) using PIWIS Tester II 9818 .
- During coding, it is essential to guarantee the power supply for PIWIS Tester II 9818 . A battery charger with a current rating of at least 40 A must be connected to the vehicle battery.
- The PIWIS Tester II 9818 instructions take precedence and in the event of a discrepancy, these are the instructions that must be followed. Deviations can occur with later software versions. The description is based on the Tester software release 17.02.
- The procedure described here has been structured in general terms; different text or additions may appear in PIWIS Tester II 9818 .
- PIWIS Tester II 9818 must be connected to the vehicle and ignition switched on.
- Select the vehicle type and start the PIDT.
- Select the ORS control unit and Maintenance/repairs and press [F12] to continue.
- Select Control unit replacement
and press [F12] to continue.
Information
If the values cannot be read out from the control unit (e.g. control unit is faulty), skip the step for reading data and continue with the step for writing data .
- Select Read data and press [F12] to continue.
- The PIWIS Tester II 9818 screen displays the message Data was read out . Press [F12] to continue.

- Switch on ignition. After replacing the control unit, select the Coding menu and press [F12] to continue. Select vehicle variant and change it if necessary.
- Switch to Control unit replacement and select the Write data menu. Then load the data that was read out by pressing [F12].
- Press [F8] to start synchronising the pressure sensors and then press [F12] to continue.WARNING: The vehicle begins to sway to the left and right at the start of the low-pressure and high-pressure check

- Risk of damage to the vehicle
→ The vehicle must stand freely and must not be jacked up.
→ Make sure the vehicle is at least → Length: 80 cm away from people and objects at all sides.
- Start the engine, follow the instructions on PIWIS Tester II 9818
and start the low-pressure
check by pressing [F12]. Tester reports that the low-pressure check was completed successfully. Press [F12] to continue.
Information
Set damper hardness to normal.
Set air-spring level to normal and switch it off.
- With the engine running, follow the instructions on PIWIS Tester II 9818 and start the high-pressure check by pressing [>>]. Tester reports that the high-pressure check was completed successfully. Press [F12] to continue.
- Read out the fault memory and erase it if necessary.
- Carry out a test drive, then read out the fault memory and if there are faults present, correct them according to the Guided Fault Finding instructions.
