Interior Light Test 2A - Courtesy Lights Inoperative With Any Door

NOTE: Perform INTERIOR LIGHT TEST 1A  before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification, refer to CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . For wiring diagrams, refer to WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Perform, after each repair, VERIFICATION TEST VER-1A - VERIFICATION PROCEDURE  .
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
  1. Ensure courtesy light switch on headlight switch is in middle position. Using scan tool, actuate COURTESY LMP RLY. If courtesy lights illuminate, go to INTERIOR LIGHT TEST 2B  . If courtesy lights do not illuminate, go to next step.
  2. Disconnect courtesy light relay. See Figure in EXTERIOR LIGHT TEST 4A. Using scan tool in voltmeter mode, measure voltage at terminal "A" on courtesy light relay socket. If voltage is 10 volts or less, replace junction block. See Figure . If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step.
  3. Using scan tool in voltmeter mode, measure voltage at terminal "E" on courtesy light relay socket. If voltage is 10 volts or less, replace junction block. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step.
  4. Disconnect voltmeter probe. Connect jumper wire between terminals "A" and "B" on courtesy light relay socket. If courtesy lights illuminate, go to next step. If courtesy lights do not illuminate, replace junction block.
  5. Disconnect jumper wire. Install courtesy light relay. Access junction block connector "D". See Figure . Using scan tool in voltmeter mode, backprobe connector "D". Measure voltage on terminal No. 34 (Brown/White wire). See Figure in EXTERIOR LIGHT TEST 2A. If voltage is 10 volts or less, replace courtesy light relay. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step.
  6. Remove headlight switch from dash. Do not disconnect connectors. Using scan tool in voltmeter mode, backprobe terminal No. 9 (Brown/White wire) on switch connector. If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair open Brown/White wire. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step.
  7. Backprobe terminal No. 3 (Brown/Light Green wire) on switch connector. If voltage is 10 volts or less, replace headlight switch. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step.
  8. Access junction block connector "D". See Figure . Using scan tool in voltmeter mode, backprobe connector "D". Measure voltage on terminal No. 10 (Brown/Light Green wire). See Figure in EXTERIOR LIGHT TEST 2A. If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair open Brown/Light Green wire. If voltage is more than 10 volts, replace Body Control Module (BCM). BCM is located with junction block under driver's side instrument panel. See Figure .
