Chime Test 10A - Chime Inoperative With Low Oil Pressure

NOTE: Perform CHIME TEST 1A  before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification, refer to CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . For wiring diagrams, refer to WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Perform, after each repair, VERIFICATION TEST VER-1A - VERIFICATION PROCEDURE  .
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting any module connector.
  1. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, actuate chime. If chime does not sound, replace Body Control Module (BCM). BCM is located with junction block under driver's side instrument panel. See Figure . If chime sounds, go to next step.
  2. If oil warning light is not illuminated, go to INFORMATION CENTER TEST 2A  . If oil warning light is illuminated, disconnect Oil Pressure Switch (OPS). See OPS LOCATION table. Go to next step.

    Engine Location
    2.4L Side Of Block, Near Transaxle
    3.0L Next To Oil Filter
    3.3L & 3.8L Below A/C Compressor
  3. If oil warning light is illuminated, go to INFORMATION CENTER TEST 2A  . If oil warning light is not illuminated, connect a jumper wire between ground and Gray wire on OPS connector. Start engine and allow to idle for 20 seconds. Go to next step.
  4. Increase engine speed to 1600 RPM. If chime sounds, system is currently functioning properly. If chime does not sound, replace BCM.
