Interior Lights Test 4A - Courtesy Lights Inoperative From Liftgate
NOTE:
Perform INTERIOR LIGHTS TEST 1A
before proceeding. For connector terminal ID, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION
and WIRING DIAGRAM. Perform TEST VER-1A
after each repair.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting any module connector. Ensure all connectors are clean and tight.
- Close all doors. Open liftgate. Using scan tool, check status of liftgate ajar switch. If scan tool does not display LIFTGATE AJAR SWITCH: CLOSED, go to DOOR AJAR TEST 9A . If scan tool displays LIFTGATE AJAR SWITCH: CLOSED, go to next step.
- Disconnect liftgate (cargo) courtesy light connector. If front courtesy lights illuminate, replace liftgate courtesy light assembly. If front courtesy lights do not illuminate, go to next step.
- Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) Black 14-pin connector. BCM is located under left side of dash. Using scan tool in voltmeter mode, probe liftgate (cargo) light connector terminal "C" (White/Light Green wire). If voltage is more than one volt, repair short in White/Light Green wire. If voltage is one volt or less, replace BCM.
