Interior Lights Test 4A - Courtesy Lights Inoperative From Liftgate

NOTE: Perform INTERIOR LIGHTS TEST 1A  before proceeding. For connector terminal ID, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  and WIRING DIAGRAM. Perform TEST VER-1A  after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting any module connector. Ensure all connectors are clean and tight.
  1. Close all doors. Open liftgate. Using scan tool, check status of liftgate ajar switch. If scan tool does not display LIFTGATE AJAR SWITCH: CLOSED, go to DOOR AJAR TEST 9A  . If scan tool displays LIFTGATE AJAR SWITCH: CLOSED, go to next step.
  2. Disconnect liftgate (cargo) courtesy light connector. If front courtesy lights illuminate, replace liftgate courtesy light assembly. If front courtesy lights do not illuminate, go to next step.
  3. Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) Black 14-pin connector. BCM is located under left side of dash. Using scan tool in voltmeter mode, probe liftgate (cargo) light connector terminal "C" (White/Light Green wire). If voltage is more than one volt, repair short in White/Light Green wire. If voltage is one volt or less, replace BCM.
