Test 15A - Pump/Motor Circuit Not Working Properly

NOTE: Perform TEST 1A  before proceeding. For connector terminal and circuit identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION . For wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAM . Perform TEST VER-1A  after each repair.
  1. Using scan tool, read DTCs. If VALVE POWER FEED CIRCUIT DTC is present, perform TEST 20A . If specified DTC is not present, use scan tool to clear DTCs. Turn ignition off, then on. Go to next step.
  2. Using scan tool, select SYSTEM TEST. Perform PUMP TEST. Read DTCs. If PUMP MOTOR CIRCUIT NOT WORKING PROPERLY DTC sets, perform TEST 15B . If specified DTC does not set, go to next step.
  3. Condition required to set DTC is not present at this time. Using wiring diagram as a guide, inspect wiring harnesses for proper routing and connections. Repair as necessary. If no problems are found, go to next step.
  4. Inspect the following for possible cause of pump/motor circuit failure:
    • Loose connections in pump/motor relay circuits.
    • Open pump/motor relay fuse.
    • Failed pump/motor relay coil or contacts.
    • Open pump/motor relay control circuit.
    • Open main relay output circuit to pump/motor relay coil.
    • Failed pump/motor.
    • Failed Controller Anti-Lock Brake (CAB).
    • Open pump/motor ground circuit.
    • Open pump/motor relay output circuit.
    • Open pump/motor monitor circuit at CAB connector "B", terminal B3.

If no problems are found, pump/motor circuit is operating properly at this time. See INACTIVE DTC CONDITION OR INTERMITTENT SHORT CONDITION  under DIAGNOSIS & TESTING. Test is complete.
