12b. Injection Pressure Regulator Test: Notes
NOTE:
Do not replace the high pressure oil pump if debris is present on the IPR screen. Clean or replace the screen, reinstall the IPR valve, and retest the IPR valve function.
NOTE:
If oil is leaking from the high pressure oil system or if air is trapped in the system, the injection pressure regulator (IPR) valve may be commanded fully closed (85% duty cycle) by the powertrain control module (PCM) during cranking in an attempt to exceed 3.5 MPa (500 psi).
NOTE:
If DTC 2623 is present, GO to PINPOINT TEST R

NOTE:
The engine must be at normal operating temperature to verify IPR duty cycle.
