Test SC-7C: Checking Speed Control Operation

NOTE: Perform TEST SC-7A  before proceeding.
  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect vacuum supply from speed control servo. Attach a vacuum gauge to disconnected vacuum hose. Start engine. If vacuum gauge does not read manifold vacuum, repair vacuum supply hose for a leak or restriction. Perform TEST SC-VER  . If vacuum gauge reads manifold vacuum, go to next step.
  2. Turn engine off. Observe vacuum gauge for 10 seconds. If vacuum does not hold for at least 10 seconds, replace vacuum reservoir. Perform TEST SC-VER  . If vacuum holds for at least 10 seconds, go to next step.
  3. Inspect throttle cable. If throttle cable is damaged or misadjusted, repair as necessary. Perform TEST SC-VER  . If throttle cable is okay, replace speed control servo. Perform TEST SC-VER  .
