Theory Of Operation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2024 RAM ProMaster EV. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The Motor Control Processor A (MCPA) is contained within the Power Inverter Module (PIM). The MCPA controls the Electric Drive Motor (EDM) operation. The resolver and motor phase temperature sensors are located in the EDM. The MCPA internal temperature sensors are located in the PIM on the Printed Circuit Board (PCB). The resolver measures the speed and motor position while the electric motor is turning.
