Power Door Lock Test 15A - All Doors Fail To Lock & Unlock From Any Switch

NOTE: Perform POWER DOOR LOCK TEST 1A  before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification, refer to CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . For wiring diagrams, refer to WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Perform, after each repair, VERIFICATION TEST VER-1A - VERIFICATION PROCEDURE  .
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
  1. Using scan tool, actuate door lock relay. If doors lock, go to POWER DOOR LOCK TEST 15B  . If doors do not lock, go to next step.
  2. Remove and inspect Power Distribution Center (PDC) fuse No. 26. See Figure in EXTERIOR LIGHT TEST 2A. If fuse is open, go to step 7). Install fuse No. 26. Remove door lock relay from junction block. See Figure in EXTERIOR LIGHT TEST 4A.
  3. Using scan tool in voltmeter mode, measure voltage on outside terminal of fuse No. 26 (component side of circuit). If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair open circuit between PDC and junction block. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step.
  4. Connect test light between door lock relay socket terminals "A" and "C". See Figure in EXTERIOR LIGHT TEST 4A. Using scan tool, actuate door lock relay. If test light flashes, go to next step. If test light does not flash, replace Body Control Module (BCM). BCM is located with junction block under driver's side instrument panel. See Figure .
  5. Turn ignition off. Turn off all lights. Using scan tool in ohmmeter mode, measure resistance at terminal "E" on door lock relay socket. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, repair open ground circuit. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step.
  6. Turn ignition on. Turn on all lights and accessories. Using scan tool in voltmeter mode, measure voltage at terminal "E" on door lock relay socket. If voltage is more than one volt, repair open ground circuit. If voltage is one volt or less, replace door lock relay.
    NOTE: PDC fuse No. 26 also supplies voltage to power seat circuit.
  7. Using scan tool in ohmmeter mode, measure resistance outside terminal of PDC fuse No. 26 (component side of circuit). If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, replace fuse. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair component side of circuit for short to ground.
