Removal & Installation (W/Full Floor Console)
- Before proceeding, disable air bag system. See AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS . Move both driver and passenger seats to gain access to console fasteners.
- Set parking brake. Pull outward on rear edges of left and right console trim panels to disengage retainers. Use small hooked tool and reach behind console center trim plate and disengage 6 retaining clips. Disconnect electrical connector and remove. Open instrument panel center compartment door and remove 2 screws at bottom. Grasp firmly and pull to remove. Disconnect electrical connector.
- Remove cable housing retaining screw and disconnect shift cable from shifter assembly. Remove left and right knee bolsters trim panel by grasping top and bottom and pull rearward to disengage retainers. On left knee bolster, disconnect night vision switch electrical connector (if equipped) and remove knee bolster trim vehicle.
- Remove 4 screws attaching center console to instrument panel. See Figure . Move front seats rearward. Remove 2 front console-to-floor screws. Move front seats forward. Remove 2 rear console-to-floor screws. Move console rearward to access electrical connectors and disconnect Remove front floor console from vehicle.
- When console is removed, the carpet will be pre-slit to provide access to Sensing & Diagnostic Module (SDM). Remove Connector Position Assurance (CPA) from SDM connector. Push down flex lock button and move sliding connector locking cover to open position. Remove push-on clip securing SDM harness to console stud. Disconnect connector from SDM. See Figure . Remove mounting bolts and remove SDM from floor.
- To install, reverse removal procedure. Install SDM mounting fasteners and torque to 80 INCH lbs. (9 N.m).
