Trip Odometer / Odometer
The trip odometers and odometer have the function of showing the three available odometer settings. These show how far the vehicle has travelled in total, and how far the vehicle has travelled since the two trip odometers were last reset. You can switch between the two trip odometers in the trip computer by rolling the thumb wheel. To reset the trip odometer, hold the RESET button depressed for 2 seconds. If the RESET button is depressed for more than 4 seconds, DIM will switch to the trip computer reset menu. There must also be voltage to the driver information module (DIM).
The driver information module (DIM) (5/1) receives a signal from the brake control module (BCM) (4/16) with information on the number of wheel rotations. This is then used to calculate distance travelled.
