DESCRIPTION

Background for "CEM - B129F96 Battery Control Switch module BCSM. Component failure. Internal fault":

This DTC is most likely set due to that at one or more occasions the main battery terminal(s) has been disconnected/reconnected and a voltage spike has triggered the code. The CEM monitors the communication between the BCSM and the support battery.

If Central Electronic Module (CEM) DTC - B129F96 is permanently set, follow the instructions under SERVICE .

SERVICE

There is no need to replace the BCSM.

Check the main battery and alternator according to VIDA.

Check the support battery voltage; charge if low. It is best to slow charge the support battery overnight if possible.

Erase the DTC(s).

Ensure TJ 31543 has been performed.
