NOTE:

The market in Japan has Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) for model year 2008-2009 regardless of whether the vehicle is equipped with keyless entry system or not. When the vehicle is not equipped with keyless entry system, the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) communicates directly with Central electronic module (CEM). If the vehicle is equipped with keyless entry system, the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) communicates via Keyless Vehicle Module (KVM).

For S80, V70, XC70, and S80L the bulbs are replaced by LEDs. When a door opens the lights are activated with 100% power until 30 seconds after door closing or when power supply position changes to ignition position II. When driving in the dark the LEDs are on with limited power. The power can be adjusted just like the lighting in DIM.

The interior roof lighting front (10/22) and rear (10/150) a total of four lamps is activated by the relevant switch.

The inner roof lighting and courtesy lighting (10/125-126) are automatically activated when a door is opened, when the vehicle is unlocked using the remote key or upon activation of approach lighting.

In order for the automatic activation to function the light switch in the roof console must be in the auto position. This only applies to roof lighting. The courtesy lighting is activated regardless of the position of the light switch.

The inner roof lighting and courtesy lighting are powered by the central electronic module (CEM). The inner roof lighting and courtesy lighting may dim when the central electronic module activates/deactivates general lighting since the return cable for inner roof lighting to the central electronic module (CEM) is adjustable.

Courtesy lighting activated:

Sun visor lighting (10/114-115) and glove compartment lighting (10/29) are powered by the central electronic module (CEM). The lamps for sun visor lighting are activated when the lid to the vanity mirror is opened. The lamps for glove compartment lighting are activated when the glove compartment is opened.

Certain vehicles are equipped with enhanced lighting. The following is unique for these versions.

If the vehicle is equipped with ground lighting, front and rear (10/261-262, 10/294-295), and sill molding lighting, front and rear (10/249-252), then these are energized by the relay for interior lighting and are controlled via return cables in the central electronic module (CEM). This lighting and the front spotlights are activated under the same conditions as the courtesy lighting, but are deactivated when the engine is started.

In vehicles equipped with courtesy lighting, rear (10/122-123), the rear courtesy lighting is energized and activated in the same way as the front courtesy lighting.

On vehicles equipped with make-up mirror lighting (10/90-91) and spotlights, roof (10/298-301), these are energized from the interior lighting relay. The make-up mirror lighting is always activated. Spotlights, roof, are activated manually by pressing on the component.
