When the central electronic module (CEM) receives a lock command, it first locks the central locking system and then activates the alarm. On cars with the keyless entry system, the lock command is transmitted from the keyless vehicle module (KVM) to the central electronic module (CEM). The alarm LED starts to flash as soon as the system has been activated. However, the central electronic module (CEM) will not refer to these signals until after approximately 26 seconds, or until the deadlocks are activated as part of central locking, which happens after approximately 25 seconds.
