DESCRIPTION

Some DTC's may be stored in the car indicating a fault with the Power Seat Module (PSM). These DTC's may be set on faulty reasons and will then not cause any symptoms for the customer.

Some or all of these DTC's may be set:

Power Seat Module (PSM)-U030000 Internal Error in Power seat module

Central Electronic Module (CEM)-U020800 Lost Communication With Power seat module

Drivers Door Module (DDM)-U020800 Lost Communication With Power seat module

Passenger Door Module (PDM)-U020800 Lost Communication With Power seat module

NOTE: Also cars produced before week 40, 2011 may be concerned by this TJ, if the PSM module has been replaced to the new version that was introduced week 40, 2011.

PRODUCT MODIFICATION

The new PSM SW was released during week 40-42, 2013 for service and production.

VEHICLE REPORT

Yes, please submit a Vehicle Report if the service solution described in this TJ has no effect. Use concern area "Vehicle Report" and sub concern area "Support Not Needed", use function group 8526.

SERVICE

If any of the above mentioned DTC's are set with no related customer symptom, perform a PSM SW Upgrade.

If any of above DTC's is set with a customer complaint that corresponds to a PSM that is not responding on the CAN network, then follow VIDA instructions for fault tracing.

If customer complains about the seat memory position 3 is lost or changed without reason, then read TJ-23715.

NOTE: Passenger seat that is electrically controlled does not have any memory buttons and therefore no PSM or VIDA diagnostics.
