Transmission Control Module (TCM)

Transmission control module (TCM) (4/28) transmits signals on the CAN network with the position of the gear selector. The central electronic module (CEM) uses this signal to determine if the gear selector is in P or N.

The vehicle can only be started if the gear selector is in P or N. The remote key cannot be removed from the start control module (SCU) if the gear selector is not in position P. For more information see appropriate Design and Function information for the Transmission control module (TCM).
