Replacing The Knob And Boot: Check: Function

• Check that the lock arm does not catch on the gear sector when the lever is moved forwards and backwards
• Start the engine.

Check that the catch for the retaining brake is functioning correctly by moving the lever into the retaining brake position and moving the gear selector into the drive position (D).

The car must remain stationary.
