Checking ignition spark

• Ignition off
• Do not disconnect ignition coil, let wiring remain in place.
• Install a new spark plug in the ignition coil, place it against the engine.
• Ignition on
  CAUTION:

  Never activate a ignition coil which is installed on the engine.

  Engine damage may be caused if there is a fuel in the cylinder.

  Check carefully that only the dismounted coil is activated.

  Cylinder order is calculated from the camshaft gears.

  Activate the relevant ignition coil.

Is there a spark? 

• YES 

  OKAY:  Troubleshooting has been completed.

• NO 

  Refer to Replacing component
