12V Battery Removal And Installation/Replacement

Mobile Repair Possible:  Van/Car

NOTE: Damage
Failure to follow specified procedures may result in damage to the vehicle's electrical system.
  • Read Warnings and Instructions before disconnecting the battery.
  • Refer to DANGER AND WARNING

Removal Procedure: 

  1. Remove front trunk. Refer to FRONT TRUNK REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION/REPLACEMENT

  2. Loosen nut (1) do not remove it.

    Torque: 6 Nm 

  3. Pull off the battery negative cable from the Battery negative terminal by carefully moving to and for. Do not pry using a tool.
  4. Move the battery negative cable to one side and secure.

  5. Unlock and disconnect electrical connector (1) from the battery sensor.
  6. Remove bolt (2).

    Torque: 8 Nm 

  7. Remove nut (3).

    Torque: 8 Nm

  8. Open the cover (1) and loosen the nut (2) of the Battery positive cable.

    Torque: 6 Nm

  9. Loosen the pre-fuse box (2) at the markings.
  10. Remove the pre-fuse box (1) from the 12V Battery upwards.

  11. Remove the bracket (1).

  12. Remove 12V battery (1) upwards.

Installation Procedure: 

  1. Installation is the reverse of removal procedure, noting the following All fasteners must be tightened to torque specification. 
  2. Install front trunk. Refer to FRONT TRUNK REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION/REPLACEMENT
  3. Diagnostics, Programming and Setup. Refer to DIAGNOSTICS, PROGRAMMING AND SETUP USING SCAN TOOL IN SERVICE
