12V Battery Negative Cable Removal And Installation/Replacement

Mobile Repair Possible:  Van/Car

NOTE: Damage
Failure to follow specified procedures may result in damage to the vehicle's electrical system.
  • Read Warnings and Instructions before disconnecting the battery.
  • Refer to DANGER AND WARNINGS
  • Refer to General Warnings and Safety Regulations

Removal Procedure: 

  1. Remove Front Trunk. Refer to FRONT TRUNK REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION/REPLACEMENT

  2. Loosen nut (1) do not remove it.

  3. Loosen nut (1) do not remove it.

    Torque: 6 Nm 

  4. Pull off the battery negative cable from the Battery negative terminal by carefully moving it to and fro. Do not pry using a tool.
  5. Move the battery negative cable to one side and secure.

  6. Remove nut (1).

    Torque: 11 Nm 

  7. Remove nut (2).

    Torque: 8 Nm 

  8. Unlock and disconnect electrical connector (3) from the battery sensor.

  9. Remove 12V Battery Negative Cable (1).

Replacement Procedure: 

  1. Rebuild 12V Battery Current Sensor. Refer to 12V BATTERY CURRENT SENSOR REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION/REPLACEMENT 

Installation Procedure: 

  1. Installation is the reverse of removal procedure, noting the following All fasteners must be tightened to torque specification! 
  2. Install Front Trunk. Refer to FRONT TRUNK REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION/REPLACEMENT
