Front Seat Track Motor Removal And Installation/Replacement

WARNING:

Failure to follow specified procedures may result in death or serious injury due to improper handling of side airbags possible.
- Only appropriately trained persons may carry out work on pyrotechnic components or the Airbag Control Unit.
- Perform SRS disabling procedure prior to commencing work.
- When replacing components of the SRS system, never install used or non-genuine components.
- Pyrotechnic Components must be handled and scrapped appropriately.
Removal Procedure:
The procedure for the left-hand component is identical to that for the right-hand side.
- Move front seat to highest position.
- Remove front seat. Refer to FRONT SEAT REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
- Remove front seat cushion outer trim panel. Refer to FRONT SEAT CUSHION OUTER TRIM PANEL REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION/REPLACEMENT
- Unlock and disconnect electrical connector (1).
- Detach the cable mount (1) from the connecting shaft (2).
- Detach the connecting shaft (1) from mounting and carefully bend it upwards. Remove the connecting shaft from the seat track (2) at the same time.
- Detach and remove the connecting shaft (1) from the front seat track motor (3).
- Remove 2 bolts (1).
Torque: 8 Nm
- Remove 2 bolts (1).
Torque: 8 Nm
- Lift the motor with the cross brace (1) and remove it in arrow direction with or without the connecting shaft (2).
Installation Procedure:
Installation note: Check connecting shafts (1) for damage and replace if needed.
- Installation is the reverse of removal procedure, noting the following.
All fasteners must be tightened to torque specification!
- Install front seat. Refer to FRONT SEAT REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
- Install front seat cushion outer trim panel. Refer to FRONT SEAT CUSHION OUTER TRIM PANEL REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION/REPLACEMENT
- Diagnostics, Programming and Setup. Refer to DIAGNOSTICS, PROGRAMMING AND SETUP USING SCAN TOOL IN SERVICE
