DTC B109E-87: Remote Keyless Entry missing message [07/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. VERIFY MAIN BODY ECU DTCS AGAIN 
    1. Clear the DTC.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [07/2015 - 08/2019] , or refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [08/2019 - ]

      Body Electrical > Main Body > Clear DTCs 

    2. Recheck for DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [07/2015 - 08/2019] , or refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [08/2019 - ]

      Body Electrical > Main Body > Trouble Codes 

    3. Is the same DTC displayed?

      Result

      Result
      Yes
      No

    Result: 

    No

  2. INSPECT ENGINE STOP AND START ECU CONNECTOR CONDITION 
    1. Switch the ignition off.
    2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

      Refer to REMOVAL [07/2015 - ]

    3. Disconnect the engine stop and start ECU connector.
    4. Inspect the connector engagement and connection condition and inspect the terminals for damage, deformation, corrosion, or disconnection.
    5. Is the connector normal?

      Result

      Result
      Yes
      No

    Result: 

    No

  3. INSPECT MAIN BODY ECU CONNECTOR CONDITION 
    1. Disconnect the main body ECU connector.
    2. Inspect the connector engagement and connection condition and inspect the terminals for damage, deformation, corrosion, or disconnection.
    3. Is the connector normal?

      Yes
      No

    Result: 

    No

  4. INSPECT WIRING HARNESS BETWEEN ENGINE STOP AND START ECU AND MAIN BODY ECU FOR SHORT TO GROUND 
    1. Verify that the engine stop and start ECU and main body ECU connectors are disconnected.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D6-9 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  5. INSPECT WIRING HARNESS BETWEEN ENGINE STOP AND START ECU AND MAIN BODY ECU FOR OPEN CIRCUIT 
    1. Verify that the engine stop and start ECU and main body ECU connectors are disconnected.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D6-9 - E1-21 Always Below 1 Ω

  6. VERIFY IF MALFUNCTIONING LOCATION IS ENGINE STOP AND START ECU DEPENDING ON REPEATABILITY 
    1. Always reconnect all disconnected connectors.
    2. Connect the negative battery cable.

      Refer to INSTALLATION [07/2015 - ]

    3. Clear the DTC.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [07/2015 - 08/2019] , or refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [08/2019 - ]

      Body Electrical > Main Body > Clear DTCs 

    4. Recheck for DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [07/2015 - 08/2019] , or refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [08/2019 - ]

      Body Electrical > Main Body > Trouble Codes 

    5. Is the same DTC displayed?

      Result

      Yes
      No

    Result: 

    Yes

  7. VERIFY THAT REPAIRS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED 
    1. Always reconnect all disconnected connectors.
    2. Connect the negative battery cable.

      Refer to INSTALLATION [07/2015 - ]

    3. Clear the DTC.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [07/2015 - 08/2019] , or refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [08/2019 - ]

      Body Electrical > Main Body > Clear DTCs 

    4. Recheck for DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [07/2015 - 08/2019] , or refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [08/2019 - ]

      Body Electrical > Main Body > Trouble Codes 

    5. Is the same DTC displayed?

      Result

      No

    Result:

  8. VERIFY IF OTHER DTCS DISPLAYED 
    1. Are any other DTCs displayed?

      Result

      Yes
      No

    Result: 

    Yes 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE THE MALFUNCTIONING PART ACCORDING TO THE APPLICABLE DTC TROUBLESHOOTING. 

    1. Refer to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [07/2015 - 08/2019] , or refer to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [08/2019 - ]

    Result: 

    No 

    DTC TROUBLESHOOTING COMPLETED. 

  9. REPEAT THE INSPECTION FROM STEP 1. 
    1. If the malfunction recurs, replace the main body ECU.

      Refer to REMOVAL [07/2015 - ]

    2. Go to the next step.

      Result

  10. REPLACE THE ENGINE STOP AND START ECU. 
    1. Refer to REMOVAL [07/2015 - ]
    2. Then go to the next step.

  11. REFER TO THE WIRING DIAGRAM AND VERIFY WHETHER OR NOT THERE IS A COMMON CONNECTOR BETWEEN ENGINE STOP AND START ECU TERMINAL D6-9 AND MAIN BODY ECU TERMINAL E1-21. 
    1. If there is a common connector:
      1. Determine the malfunctioning part by inspecting the common connector and the terminal for corrosion, damage, or pin disconnection, and the common wiring harness for an open circuit.
      2. Repair or replace the malfunctioning part.
    2. If there is no common connector:

      Repair or replace the wiring harness which has an open circuit.

    3. Go to the next step.

  12. REFER TO THE WIRING DIAGRAM AND VERIFY WHETHER OR NOT THERE IS A COMMON CONNECTOR BETWEEN ENGINE STOP AND START ECU TERMINAL D6-9 AND MAIN BODY ECU TERMINAL E1-21. 
    1. If there is a common connector:
      1. Determine the malfunctioning part by inspecting the common connector and the terminal for corrosion, damage, or pin disconnection, and the common wiring harness for an open circuit.
      2. Repair or replace the malfunctioning part.
    2. If there is no common connector:

      Repair or replace the wiring harness which has an open circuit.

    3. Go to the next step.
