PCV Valve: Installation: Procedure

  1. RETAINER INSTALLATION NOTE 
    NOTE:

    Be sure to replace the old retainer with a new one to prevent the escape of blow-by gas. Reinstalling the old retainer will reduce airtightness.

    1. Make sure that the retainer alignment mark is directed as shown in the left diagram before installing the retainer to the oil separator.

      *c Retainer Alignment Mark
      *d Vehicle Front
      *e Retainer
  2. PCV HOSE INSTALLATION NOTE 
    1. Install the end of the PCV hose on the marking side to the PCV valve.

      *a 7.5 to 8.5 mm (0.296 to 0.334 in.)
      *b Marking
      *c PCV Valve Side
      *d Intake Manifold Side
      *e 9.5 to 10.5 mm (0.375 to 0.413 in.)
      *f Engine Front
  3. INSTALL POSITIVE CRANKCASE VENTILATION (PCV) VALVE 
    1. Install the PCV valve.

      *1 PCV Hose *2 Oil Separator
      *3 Retainer *4 PCV Valve
      *a Marking *b Vehicle Front
      N*m (kgf*cm, ft.*lbf): Specified torque • Non-reusable part
    2. Install the retainer.

      See step  1

    3. Install the oil separator.
    4. Install the PCV hose.

      See step  2

    5. Install the intake manifold.

      Refer to INSTALLATION

    6. Connect the negative battery cable.

      Refer to REMOVAL
