Brake Actuator: Installation: Procedure

  1. BRAKE PIPE INSTALLATION NOTE 
    1. Align the marks made before removal and install the brake pipe to the brake actuator and brake pipe joint referring to the figure.

      *e Master Cylinder (Secondary Side)
      *f Master Cylinder (Primary Side)
  2. BRAKE ACTUATOR CONNECTOR INSTALLATION NOTE 
    1. Connect the connector and pull the lock lever up in the direction of the arrow.

      *a Lock Lever
    2. After connecting the connector, verify that the connector cover is completely pushed in.
  3. INSTALL BRAKE ACTUATOR 
    WARNING:

    If the ABS related parts sensor initialization procedure is not completed, the ABS will not operate properly and it might cause an unexpected accident. Therefore, after replacing the brake actuator, always perform the ABS related parts sensor initialization procedure to insure proper ABS operation.

    NOTE:

    The internal parts of the brake actuator could be damaged if dropped. Be careful not to drop the brake actuator. Replace the brake actuator if it is subjected to an impact.

    1. Install the mount rubber.

      *1 Bolt *2 Brake Actuator
      *3 Bolt *4 Mount Rubber
      *5 Spacer *6 Mount Rubber
      *7 Bracket - -
      N*m (kgf*cm, ft.*lbf): Specified torque - -
    2. Install the spacer.
    3. Install the bolt.

      Torque: 5.4 N*m (55 kgf*cm, 48 in.*lbf) 

    4. Install the brake actuator.
    5. Install the bolt.

      Torque: 5.4 N*m (55 kgf*cm, 48 in.*lbf) 

    6. Install the nut.

      Torque: 22 N*m (224 kgf*cm, 16 ft.*lbf)

      *1 Brake Actuator Connector *2 Brake Pipe
      *3 Nut *4 Brake Actuator Component
      N*m (kgf*cm, ft.*lbf): Specified torque - -
    7. Connect the brake pipe.

      Torque: 17 N*m (173 kgf*cm, 13 ft.*lbf) 

      See step  1

    8. Connect the brake actuator connector.

      See step  2

    9. Install the insulator.

      *a Bolt
      *b Nut
      *c Insulator
      N*m (kgf*cm, ft.*lbf): Specified torque

      Torque: 8.35 N*m (85 kgf*cm, 74 in.*lbf) 

    10. After installation, add brake fluid, bleed the air, and inspect for fluid leakage.

      Refer to BLEEDING

    11. Perform the ABS related parts sensor initialization procedure (only when replacing it with a new one).

      Refer to INITIALIZATION 

    12. Clear the DTCs from the memory.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR
