DTC B1174-13: Passenger Door Interior Unlock Switch Circuit Open: Procedure

  1. VERIFY MAIN BODY ECU DTCS AGAIN 
    1. Clear the DTC for the main body ECU using the Techstream.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR

      Body Electrical > Body Control Module > Clear DTCs 

    2. Lock/unlock all the doors by operating the driver's door lock knob.
    3. Retrieve the main body ECU DTCs using the Techstream.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR

      Body Electrical > Body Control Module > Trouble Codes 

    4. Is the same DTC displayed?

      Result

      Result
      Yes
      No

    Result:  2

    No

  2. INSPECT FRONT DOOR LOCK (PASSENGER'S SIDE) CONNECTOR CONDITION 
    1. Switch the ignition off.
    2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

      Refer to REMOVAL

    3. Disconnect the front door lock (passenger's side) connector.
    4. Inspect the connector engagement and connection condition and inspect the terminals for damage, deformation, corrosion, or disconnection.
    5. Is the connector normal?

      Result

      Yes
      No

    Result:  2

    No

  3. INSPECT FRONT DOOR LOCK-LINK SWITCH (PASSENGER'S SIDE) GROUND CIRCUIT FOR OPEN CIRCUIT 
    1. Verify that the front door lock (passenger's side) connector is disconnected.
    2. Inspect for continuity between the following terminal (wiring harness-side) and body ground:
      • Front door lock (RH) terminal F12-8*1 or F17-8*2
        • *1: w/o Smart Key System

          *2: w/ Smart Key System

    3. Is there continuity?

      No

  4. INSPECT FRONT DOOR LOCK-LINK SWITCH (PASSENGER'S SIDE) 
    1. Inspect the front door lock-link switch (passenger's side).

      Refer to INSPECTION

    2. Is the front door lock-link switch (passenger's side) normal?

  5. INSPECT REAR DOOR LOCK (LH) CONNECTOR CONDITION 
    1. Disconnect the rear door lock (LH) connector.
    2. Inspect the connector engagement and connection condition and inspect the terminals for damage, deformation, corrosion, or disconnection.
    3. Is the connector normal?

  6. INSPECT REAR DOOR LOCK-LINK SWITCH (LH) GROUND CIRCUIT FOR OPEN CIRCUIT 
    1. Verify that the rear door lock (LH) connector is disconnected.
    2. Inspect for continuity between rear door lock (LH) terminal F14-11*1 or F19-11*2 (wiring harness-side) and body ground.
      • *1: w/o Smart Key System

        *2: w/ Smart Key System

    3. Is there continuity?

  7. INSPECT REAR DOOR LOCK-LINK SWITCH (LH) 
    1. Inspect the rear door lock-link switch (LH).

  8. INSPECT REAR DOOR LOCK (RH) CONNECTOR CONDITION 
    1. Disconnect the rear door lock (RH) connector
    2. Inspect the connector engagement and connection condition and inspect the terminals for damage, deformation, corrosion, or disconnection.
    3. Is the connector normal?

  9. INSPECT REAR DOOR LOCK-LINK SWITCH (RH) GROUND CIRCUIT FOR OPEN CIRCUIT 
    1. Verify that the rear door lock actuator (RH) connector is disconnected.
    2. Inspect for continuity between rear door lock (RH) terminal F15-8*1 or F20-8*2 (wiring harness-side) and body ground.
      • *1: w/o Smart Key System

        *2: w/ Smart Key System

    3. Is there continuity?

  10. INSPECT REAR DOOR LOCK-LINK SWITCH (RH) 
    1. Inspect the rear door lock-link switch (RH).

  11. INSPECT MAIN BODY ECU CONNECTOR CONDITION 
    1. Disconnect the main body ECU connector.
    2. Inspect the connector engagement and connection condition and inspect the terminals for damage, deformation, corrosion, or disconnection.
    3. Is the connector normal?

  12. INSPECT DOOR LOCK-LINK SWITCH UNLOCK CIRCUIT FOR OPEN CIRCUIT 
    1. Verify that the main body ECU, front door lock (passenger's side), rear door lock (LH) and (RH) connectors are disconnected.
    2. Inspect for continuity between the following terminals (wiring harness-side):
      • Front door lock (RH) terminal F12-12*1 or F17-12*2 - main body ECU terminal E1-7
      • Rear door lock (LH) terminal F14-7*1 or F19-7*2 - main body ECU terminal E1-7
      • Rear door lock (RH) terminal F15-12*1 or F20-12*2 - main body ECU terminal E1-7
        • *1: w/o Smart Key System

          *2: w/ Smart Key System

    3. Is there continuity?

  13. VERIFY THAT REPAIRS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED 
    1. Always reconnect all disconnected connectors.
    2. Connect the negative battery cable.

      Refer to INSTALLATION

    3. Clear the DTC for the main body ECU using the Techstream.

      Refer to REMOVAL

      Body Electrical > Body Control Module > Clear DTCs 

    4. Lock/unlock all the doors by operating the driver's door lock knob.
    5. Retrieve the main body ECU DTCs using the Techstream.

      Refer to REMOVAL

      Body Electrical > Body Control Module > Trouble Codes 

    6. Is the same DTC displayed?

  14. VERIFY IF OTHER DTCS DISPLAYED 
    1. Are any other DTCs displayed?

    REPAIR OR REPLACE THE MALFUNCTIONING PART ACCORDING TO THE APPLICABLE DTC TROUBLESHOOTING. 

    1. Refer to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART

    DTC TROUBLESHOOTING COMPLETED. 

  15. REPEAT THE INSPECTION FROM STEP 1. 
    1. If the malfunction recurs, replace the main body ECU.

      Refer to REMOVAL

    2. Go to the next step.

  16. REFER TO THE WIRING DIAGRAM AND VERIFY WHETHER OR NOT THERE IS A COMMON CONNECTOR BETWEEN THE FOLLOWING TERMINALS: 
    • Front door lock (RH) terminal F12-12*1 or F17-12*2 - main body ECU terminal E1-7
    • Rear door lock (LH) terminal F14-7*1 or F19-7*2 - main body ECU terminal E1-7
    • Rear door lock (RH) terminal F15-12*1 or F20-12*2 - main body ECU terminal E1-7
      • *1: w/o Smart Key System

        *2: w/ Smart Key System

    1. If there is a common connector:
      1. Determine the malfunctioning part by inspecting the common connector and the terminal for corrosion, damage, or pin disconnection, and the common wiring harness for an open circuit.
      2. Repair or replace the malfunctioning part.
    2. If there is no common connector:

      Repair or replace the wiring harness which has an open circuit.

    3. Go to the next step.

      Result

    1. If there is a common connector:
      1. Determine the malfunctioning part by inspecting the common connector and the terminal for corrosion, damage, or pin disconnection, and the common wiring harness for an open circuit.
      2. Repair or replace the malfunctioning part.
    2. If there is no common connector:

      Repair or replace the wiring harness which has an open circuit.

    3. Go to the next step.
