On-Vehicle Inspection [08/2016 - ]: Procedure
- INSPECT MASS AIR FLOW METER
HINT:
Perform "Inspection After Repair" after replacing the mass air flow meter.
Refer to INITIALIZATION [08/2016 - 11/2017] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [11/2017 - ]
- Read the value of Data List item "Mass Air Flow Sensor" using the Techstream.NOTE:
- Perform the inspection with the vehicle indoors and on a level surface.
- Perform the inspection of the mass air flow meter while it is installed to the air cleaner cap sub-assembly (installed to the vehicle).
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON.
- Turn the Techstream on.
- Start the engine and warm it up until the engine coolant temperature 75°C (167°F) or higher with all the accessories switched off.
- Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Data List / Mass Air Flow Sensor.
- According to the display on the Techstream, read the Data List when the engine is running.
Standard Condition
Techstream Display Condition Specified Condition Mass Air Flow Meter Idling 2.6 to 3.7 gm/sec 2000 rpm 5.4 to 9.6 gm/sec 3000 rpm 10.6 to 15.8 gm/sec If the result is not as specified, replace the mass air flow meter.
If the result is within the specified range, remove and inspect the mass air flow meter.
Refer to INSPECTION [08/2016 - ]
- Read the value of Data List item "Mass Air Flow Sensor" using the Techstream.
- PERFORM INITIALIZATION
- Perform "Inspection After Repair" after replacing the mass air flow meter.

- Perform "Inspection After Repair" after replacing the mass air flow meter.
