Removal [06/2015 - 11/2018]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [06/2015 - 11/2018]

  2. REMOVE LOWER STEERING COLUMN COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5

  3. SEPARATE METER HOOD SPACER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6

  4. REMOVE UPPER STEERING COLUMN COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7

  5. PLACE FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD 
  6. INSPECT SPIRAL CABLE WITH SENSOR SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to INSPECTION [06/2015 - ]

  7. REMOVE SPIRAL CABLE WITH SENSOR SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    NOTE:
    • Do not replace the spiral cable with sensor sub-assembly with the auxiliary battery connected and the power switch on (IG).
    • Do not rotate the spiral cable with sensor sub-assembly with the auxiliary battery connected and the power switch on (IG).
    • When rotating the spiral cable with sensor sub-assembly to check the operation of the sensor (checking for abnormal noise, checking the Data List, etc.), make sure to perform the inspection with the steering wheel assembly installed.
    1. Slide the airbag connector slider as shown in the illustration and disconnect the airbag connector from the spiral cable sub-assembly with sensor.

    2. Disconnect each connector from the spiral cable with sensor sub-assembly.
    3. Disengage the 3 claws and remove the spiral cable with sensor sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.

      Remove in this Direction
  8. REMOVE STEERING SENSOR 
    1. Disengage the 6 claws and pins, and remove the spiral cable sub-assembly from the steering sensor.

      *c Lock Pin
      NOTE:
      • Do not damage the pins of the spiral cable sub-assembly or guides of the steering sensor.
      • Do not damage the guide.
