Engine Control System (1AR-FE) (Service Information) (Except Hybrid): ECM: Installation: Installation
- INSTALL ECM
- Install the 2 ECM brackets to the ECM with the 4 screws.
- Install the ECM with the ECM bracket with the bolt and 2 nuts.
Torque: 8.5 N*m (87 kgf*cm, 75 in.*lbf)
- Install the 2 wire harness clamps.
- Install the tire pressure warning ECU with the nut and connect the tire pressure warning ECU connector.

Torque: 8.5 N*m (87 kgf*cm, 75 in.*lbf)
- Connect the 6 ECM connectors.
- INSTALL LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 23
- INSTALL NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 24
- INSTALL COWL SIDE TRIM SUB-ASSEMBLY RH . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 92
- INSTALL FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 93
- CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL NOTE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected. Refer to INITIALIZATION .
- PERFORM INITIALIZATION NOTE:
- If the ECM is replaced, register the ECU communication ID for the immobiliser system. Refer to INITIALIZATION .
- The Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) must be input into the replacement ECM. Refer to INITIALIZATION .
HINT:
Initialization cannot be completed by only disconnecting and reconnecting the cable of the negative (-) battery terminal.
