DTC 43: ABS Control System Malfunction: Procedure

  1. CHECK ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM 
    1. Clear the DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .
    2. Turn the ignition switch off.
    3. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    4. Check if an ABS DTC is output. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .
      RESULT

      Result Proceed to
      DTC (ABS DTC) is not output A
      DTC (ABS DTC) is output B

    B → See step   3 

    A: Go to next step 

  2. CONFIRM DTC 
    1. Clear the DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .
    2. Turn the ignition switch off.
    3. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    4. Check if the same DTC is output. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .
      RESULT

      Result Proceed to
      DTC is not output A
      DTC is output B

    B → See step   4 

    A → See step   5 

  3. REPAIR CIRCUITS INDICATED BY OUTPUT DTCS. Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART 
  4. REPLACE MASTER CYLINDER SOLENOID. Refer to  DISASSEMBLY 
  5. USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING
