Front Seat Side Airbag Assembly: Removal: Removal

WARNING:
  • Be sure to read Precaution thoroughly before servicing. Refer to PRECAUTION .
  • If the side airbag has deployed, replace the front seat side airbag assembly, front seat frame assembly with adjuster or front seatback spring assembly, separate type front seatback pad and separate type front seatback cover with a new one.

HINT: 

Replace the necessary parts in accordance with the condition of the collision damage.

  1. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY 

    w/o Seatback Board: Refer to REMOVAL

    w/ Seatback Board: Refer to REMOVAL

  2. DISCONNECT AIRBAG WIRE HARNESS (w/o Seatback Board) 
    1. Disengage the 2 hooks and separate the seatback cover from the front seat cushion spring.

    2. Disconnect the airbag wire harness from the seat track control cable clamp.

    3. Disengage the claw and clamp to disconnect the airbag wire harness.
  3. REMOVE SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK COVER WITH PAD (w/o Seatback Board)  . Refer to DISASSEMBLY - Step 12
  4. REMOVE FRONT SEATBACK ASSEMBLY RH (w/ Seatback Board) 

    Refer to DISASSEMBLY - Step 11

  5. REMOVE FRONT SEATBACK BOARD (w/ Seatback Board)  . Refer to DISASSEMBLY - Step 12
  6. REMOVE FRONT SEATBACK LOCK SUB-ASSEMBLY LH (w/ Seatback Board)  . Refer to DISASSEMBLY - Step 13
  7. REMOVE FRONT SEATBACK LOCK SUB-ASSEMBLY RH (w/ Seatback Board)  . Refer to DISASSEMBLY - Step 15
  8. REMOVE FRONT SEATBACK LOCK HANDLE ROD (w/ Seatback Board)  . Refer to DISASSEMBLY - Step 17
  9. REMOVE SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK COVER WITH PAD RH (w/ Seatback Board)  . Refer to DISASSEMBLY - Step 18
  10. REMOVE FRONT SEAT SIDE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY (w/o Seatback Board) 
    1. Disengage the 2 clamps.

    2. Remove the 2 nuts to remove the front seat side airbag assembly.
      WARNING:
      • The nuts must not be reused.
      • Make sure that the front seat frame assembly with adjuster is not deformed. If it is, replace it with a new one.
  11. REMOVE FRONT SEAT SIDE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY (w/ Seatback Board) 
    1. Remove the 2 nuts and front seat side airbag assembly.

      WARNING:
      • The nuts must not be reused.
      • Make sure that the separate type front seatback spring assembly is not deformed. If it is, replace it with a new one.
