DTC P0571: Stop Light Switch Circuit Malfunction: Procedure

- READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (STOP LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY)
- Use the Data List to check if the stop light switch is functioning properly. Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST

- Check for DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR

- CHECK FOR DTC
- Clear the DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .
- Perform the following to make sure the DTC detection conditions are met.
HINT:
If the detection conditions are not met, the system cannot detect the malfunction.
- Drive the vehicle at a speed of 50 km/h (30 mph) or more.
- Turn the cruise control switch on.
- Push the cruise control switch to -SET to activate cruise control.
- Check for DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR

- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (STOP LIGHT SWITCH - BATTERY)
- Disconnect the A5 stop light switch connector.
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

- INSPECT STOP LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY
- Remove the stop light switch. Refer to REMOVAL .
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

- Disconnect the G44 and G45 ECM connectors.

- USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK. Refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING
