How To Proceed With Troubleshooting

HINT: 

  1. VEHICLE BROUGHT TO WORKSHOP 

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  2. CUSTOMER PROBLEM ANALYSIS 

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  3. INSPECT BATTERY VOLTAGE 
    1. Measure the battery voltage with the engine switch off.

      Standard voltage

      11 to 14 V

      If the voltage is below 11 V, recharge or replace the battery before proceeding to the next step.

      NEXT: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM* 
    1. Use the Techstream to check if the CAN communication system is functioning normally.
      RESULT

      Result Proceed to
      CAN DTC is not output A
      CAN DTC is output B

      B → GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING 

      A: Go to next step 

  5. CHECK LIN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM* 
    1. Use the Techstream to check if the LIN communication system is functioning normally.
      RESULT

      Result Proceed to
      LIN communication system DTC is not output A
      LIN communication system DTC is output B

      B → GO TO LIN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING 

      A: Go to next step 

  6. CHECK METER/GAUGE SYSTEM* 
    1. Use the Techstream to check if the meter/gauge system is functioning normally.
      RESULT

      Result Proceed to
      Meter/gauge system DTC B2660 is not output A
      Meter/gauge system DTC B2660 is output B

      B → GO TO METER/GAUGE SYSTEM. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING 

      A: Go to next step 

  7. PROBLEM SYMPTOM CONFIRMATION 

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  8. CHECK DTC* 
    1. Check for DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .
      RESULT

      Result Proceed to
      DTC is output A
      DTC is not output (Problem symptom does not occur) B
      DTC is not output (Problem symptom occurs) C

      B → Go to step 10 

      C → Go to step 11 

      A: Go to next step 

  9. DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART 
    1. Refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code Chart. Refer to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART .

      NEXT → Go to step 13 

  10. SYMPTOM SIMULATION 
    1. Refer to Symptom Simulation. Refer to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART .

      NEXT: Go to next step 

  11. PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 
    1. Refer to Problem Symptoms Table. Refer to PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE .
      RESULT

      Result Proceed to
      Fault is not listed in problem symptoms table A
      Fault is listed in problem symptoms table B

      B → Go to step 13 

      A: Go to next step 

  12. OVERALL ANALYSIS AND TROUBLESHOOTING* 
    1. Operation Check. Refer to OPERATION CHECK 
    2. Terminals of ECU. Refer to TERMINALS OF ECU 
    3. Data List / Active Test. Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST 

      NEXT: Go to next step 

  13. CIRCUIT INSPECTION* 
    1. Adjust, repair or replace as necessary.

      NEXT: Go to next step 

  14. IDENTIFICATION OF PROBLEM 

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  15. REPAIR OR REPLACE 

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  16. CONFIRMATION TEST* 

    NEXT → END
