Section 1 (Engine Control System (1AR-FE) (Service Information)): ECM: Installation: Installation

INSTALL ECM BRACKET
1. Install the ECM bracket to the ECM with the 2 screws.
INSTALL NO. 2 ECM BRACKET
1. Install the No. 2 ECM bracket to the ECM with the 3 screws.
INSTALL ECM
1. Install the ECM with the 3 bolts.
  Torque: 8.0 N*m (82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf)
2. Pull down the lever to engage the lock and connect the 2 connectors to the ECM.

  NOTE:
  - Make sure that the 2 levers are securely locked.
  - When connecting the connectors, make sure that dirt, water or other foreign matter does not become stuck between the connectors and other parts.
3. Engage the wire harness clamp to the ECM bracket.

PERFORM INITIALIZATION
HINT:

Initialization cannot be completed by only disconnecting and reconnecting the cable of the negative (-) battery terminal.
1. Perform Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) registration. Refer to REGISTRATION .
2. Register the ECM communication ID for the immobilizer system when replacing the ECM. Refer to REGISTRATION .
3. Perform Initialization when replacing the ECM See step 13.
