Headlight Dimmer Switch: Inspection

INSPECT HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH ASSEMBLY

Inspect the light control switch.

Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance

LIGHT CONTROL SWITCH RESISTANCE

Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
12 - 18	OFF	10 kΩ or higher
12 - 19
12 - 20
12 - 18	TAIL	Below 1Ω
12 - 18 12 - 20	HEAD	Below 1Ω
12 - 19	AUTO	Below 1Ω

If the result is not as specified, replace the switch assembly.

Inspect the headlight dimmer switch.

Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance

HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH RESISTANCE

Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
11 - 12	FLASH	Below 1Ω
11 - 17	FLASH	Below 1Ω
12 - 16	LOW BEAM	Below 1Ω
11 - 12	HIGH BEAM	Below 1Ω

If the result is not as specified, replace the switch assembly.

Inspect the turn signal switch.

Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance

TURN SIGNAL SWITCH RESISTANCE

Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
12 - 13	Right turn	Below 1Ω
12 - 13	Neutral	10 kΩ or higher
12 - 15	Neutral	10 kΩ or higher
12 - 15	Left turn	Below 1Ω

If the result is not as specified, replace the switch assembly.

Inspect the fog light switch.

Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance

FOG LIGHT SWITCH RESISTANCE

Tester connection	Condition	Specified condition
3 - 4	OFF	10 kΩ or higher
3 - 4	Front fog light switch ON	Below 1Ω

If the result is not as specified, replace the switch assembly.
