Inspection Procedure

  1. INSPECT WASHER SYSTEM 
    1. Check that the front washer operates.

      OK: Washer function is normal. 

    NG: GO TO WIPER AND WASHER SYSTEM  (See HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING )

    OK: Go to Next Step 

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DISTANCE CONTROL ECU - WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH) 
    1. Disconnect the A43 distance control ECU connector and H14 windshield wiper switch connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance 

      RESISTANCE REFERENCE

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A43-3 (WASH) - H14-3 (WF) Always Below 1 Ω
      H14-3 (WF) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
    3. Reconnect the distance control ECU connector and windshield wiper switch connector.

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

    OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  (See PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  )
