How To Proceed With Troubleshooting

HINT:

  1. VEHICLE BROUGHT TO WORKSHOP 
  2. INSPECT BATTERY VOLTAGE 

    Standard Voltage: 11 to 14 V 

    If the voltage is below 11 V, replace or recharge the battery before proceeding.

  3. CHECK COMMUNICATION FUNCTION OF CONTROLLER AREA NETWORK (CAN)* 
    1. Use the Techstream to check for normal function of CAN communication system.
      1. Perform bus check (communication malfunction DTC).
      2. Perform bus check (communication bus check).

        Result 

        DTC RESULT REFERENCE

        Result Proceed to
        DTC is not output A
        DTC is output B

      B: GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM  (See HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING )

      A: Go to Next Step 

    2. CHECK FOR DTC* 

      Refer to DTC Check/Clear (See DTC CHECK/CLEAR  ).

      1. Check for DTC and note any codes that are output.
      2. Clear the DTC.
      3. Recheck for DTC. Try to prompt the DTC by simulating the original activity that the DTC suggests.

        Result

        DTC does not reoccur A
        DTC reoccur B

      B:  Go to step  5

      A: Go to Next Step 

    3. PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 

      Refer to the Problem Symptoms Table (See PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  ).

      Fault is not listed in Problem Symptoms Table A
      Fault is listed in Problem Symptoms Table B

    B:  Go to step  5

  4. OVERALL ANALYSIS AND TROUBLESHOOTING* 
    1. Terminals of ECU (See TERMINALS OF ECU  ).
    2. Data List/Active Test (See DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST  ).
  5. ADJUST, REPAIR OR REPLACE 
    NOTE:
    • When the distance control ECU is replaced with a new one, initialization must be performed (See INITIALIZATION  ).
    • When the radar sensor is replaced with a new one, adjustment of the radar sensor beam axis must be performed (See ADJUSTMENT  ).
  6. CONFIRMATION TEST 

    NEXT: END
