Inspection Procedure

NOTE: When replacing the master cylinder solenoid, perform zero point calibration (See CALIBRATION  ).
  1. INSPECT BATTERY
    1. Check the battery voltage.

      Standard voltage:

      11 to 14 V

      NG: INSPECT CHARGING SYSTEM

      OK: Go to next step

  2. INSPECT IGN FUSE
    1. Remove the IGN fuse from the driver side junction block.
    2. Check the IGN fuse.

      Standard resistance:

      Below 1 Ω

      NG: REPLACE IGN FUSE

      OK: Go to next step

  3. INSPECT SKID CONTROL ECU (IG2 TERMINAL)
    1. Install the IGN fuse.
    2. Disconnect the skid control ECU (S29) connector.
    3. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    4. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard voltage

      VOLTAGE REFERENCE

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      S29-1 (IG2) - Body ground Ignition switch ON 10 to 14 V

NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (IG2 CIRCUIT)

      OK: Go to next step

  4. INSPECT SKID CONTROL ECU (GND TERMINAL)
    1. Disconnect the skid control ECU (S28) connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      TESTER CONNECTION CONDITION CHART

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      S28-1 (GND1) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      S28-32 (GND2) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      S29-4 (GND3) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (GND CIRCUIT)

      OK: Go to next step

  5. RECONFIRM DTC
    1. Clear the DTC (See DTC CHECK/CLEAR  ).
    2. Check if the same DTC is detected (See DTC CHECK/CLEAR  ).

      HINT:

Reinstall the sensors, connectors, etc. and restore the previous vehicle conditions before rechecking for DTCs.
