Camshaft Timing Oil Control Valve Assembly: Removal

  1. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
  2. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER  (See REMOVAL )
  3. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT  (See REPLACEMENT )
  4. REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY LH  (See REMOVAL )
  5. REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY RH  (See REMOVAL )
  6. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
  7. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR AND LINK ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
  8. REMOVE OUTER COWL TOP PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
  9. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
  10. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
  11. DISCONNECT ENGINE ROOM MAIN WIRE  (See REMOVAL )
  12. REMOVE THROTTLE BODY BRACKET  (See REMOVAL )
  13. REMOVE NO. 1 SURGE TANK STAY  (See REMOVAL )
  14. REMOVE INTAKE AIR SURGE TANK ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
  15. SEPARATE HARNESS PROTECTOR 
    1. Remove the 5 bolts and nut [A].
    2. Disconnect the 19 connectors [B].
    3. Disconnect the 2 clamps [C].
    4. Disconnect the 2 studs [D].

  16. REMOVE CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY (for Bank 1) 
    1. Exhaust side:
      1. Remove the bolt and camshaft timing oil control valve assembly.

      2. Remove the O-ring from the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly.
    2. Intake side:
      1. Remove the bolt and camshaft timing oil control valve assembly.

      2. Remove the O-ring from the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly.
  17. REMOVE CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY (for Bank 2) 
    1. Exhaust side:
      1. Remove the bolt and camshaft timing oil control valve assembly.

      2. Remove the O-ring from the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly.
    2. Intake side:
      1. Remove the bolt and camshaft timing oil control valve assembly.

      2. Remove the O-ring from the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly
