Transmission Control Cable: Removal

DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Hatchback) (See REMOVAL )
REMOVE CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY REAR (for Hatchback) (See REMOVAL )
REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL LOWER CENTER (for Sedan) (See REMOVAL )
REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Sedan) (See REMOVAL )
REMOVE UPPER CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Sedan) (See REMOVAL )
REMOVE CONSOLE UPPER REAR PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Sedan) (See REMOVAL )
REMOVE CONSOLE BOX CARPET (for Sedan) (See REMOVAL )
REMOVE REAR CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY (for Sedan) (See REMOVAL )
DISCONNECT OXYGEN SENSOR CONNECTOR
REMOVE EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY FRONT (See REMOVAL )
REMOVE FRONT FLOOR HEAT INSULATOR NO.1
1. Remove the 2 bolts and nut and remove floor heat insulator No. 1.
REMOVE TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY
1. Disconnect the control shift cable from the shift lever.
2. Turn the lock to release it and separate the control shift cable from the shift lever retainer.
3. Remove the clip and disconnect the control select cable from the shift lever.
4. Turn the lock to release it and separate the control select cable from the shift lever retainer.
5. Remove the 2 clips and the 2 washers, and disconnect the 2 cables from the transaxle.
6. Remove the 2 clips and disconnect the 2 cables from the control cable bracket.

7. Remove the 3 nuts and remove the transmission control cable.
