Air Fuel Ratio Sensor: Removal

  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    NOTE:
    • Some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (see INITIALIZATION ).
    • After the ignition switch is turned OFF, the navigation system requires approximately 90 seconds to record various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the ignition switch OFF, wait 90 seconds or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
  2. REMOVE FRONT NO. 3 EXHAUST PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Regular Cab Standard Deck) 
    1. Remove the 4 bolts and 2 nuts.
    2. Disconnect the exhaust pipe from the exhaust pipe support, and remove the 2 gaskets.
  3. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY (for Regular Cab Standard Deck) 
    1. Disconnect the air fuel ratio sensor connector.
    2. Disconnect the heated oxygen sensor connector.
    3. Remove the 3 nuts, exhaust pipe and gasket.
  4. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY (except Regular Cab Standard Deck) 
    1. Disconnect the air fuel ratio sensor connector.
    2. Disconnect the heated oxygen sensor connector.
    3. Remove the 3 nuts, 2 bolts, exhaust pipe and gasket.
  5. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the air fuel ratio sensor connector.
    2. Disconnect the heated oxygen sensor connector and 2 clamps.
    3. Remove the 2 bolts.
    4. Remove the 3 nuts, exhaust pipe and 2 gaskets.
  6. REMOVE AIR FUEL RATIO SENSOR (for Bank 1 Sensor 1) 
    1. Using SST, remove the sensor.

  7. REMOVE AIR FUEL RATIO SENSOR (for Bank 2 Sensor 1) 
    1. Using SST, remove the sensor.

      SST 09224-00010
