Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK SECURITY INDICATOR LIGHT 
    1. Remove the security indicator light.
    2. Check the indicator light, as shown in the illustration and table.

    Standard: 

    MEASUREMENT OPERATION

    Measurement Condition Operation
    Battery positive (+) - Terminal 2 Security indicator turns on
    Battery negative (-) - Terminal 1 Security indicator turns on

    1. NG: REPLACE SECURITY INDICATOR LIGHT 
    2. OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 
  2. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (TVIP ECU - SECURITY INDICATOR LIGHT) 
    1. Disconnect the TVIP ECU and security indicator connectors.
    2. Check the resistance between the terminals of the TVIP ECU connector and security indicator connector, as shown in the illustration and table.

    Standard: 

    TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION

    Tester Connection Specified Condition
    IND (T3-25) - IND (S4-2) Below 1 Ω

    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE WIRE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 
    2. OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 
  3. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (SECURITY INDICATOR - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the security indicator connector.
    2. Check the resistance between the terminal of the security indicator connector and body ground, as shown in the illustration and table.

    Standard: 

    TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION

    Tester Connection Specified Condition
    GND (S4-1) - Body ground Below 1Ω

    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE WIRE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 
    2. OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 

    CHECK AND REPLACE TVIP ECU (See  ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE  )
