Inspection Procedure
- CHECK WIRE HARNESS (DISTANCE CONTROL ECU - LASER RADAR SENSOR)
- Disconnect the distance control ECU and millimeter wave radar sensor connectors.
- Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.
Standard resistance
RESISTANCE SPECIFICATIONTester Connection Condition Specified Condition A20-22 (LRDD) - A36-3 (LRDD) Always Below 1 Ω A20-13 (IGB) - A36-5 (IGB) Always Below 1 Ω A20-22 (LRDD) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher A20-13 (IGB) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

OK: Go to Next Step
- CHECK DISTANCE CONTROL ECU
- Reconnect the distance control ECU (cruise control ECU) connector. Not reconnect the millimeter wave radar sensor connector.
- Turn the ignition switch on (IG).
- Measure the voltage according to the value (s) in the table below.
Standard voltage
VOLTAGE SPECIFICATIONTester Connection Condition Specified Condition A20-13 (IGB) - Body ground Ignition switch on (IG) 10 to 16 V A20-22 (LRDD) - Body ground Ignition switch on (IG) 4.5 to 5.5 V
NG: REPLACE DISTANCE CONTROL ECU
OK: Go to Next Step
- CHECK LASER RADAR SENSOR
- Reconnect the laser sensor connector.
- Measure the voltage according to the value (s) in the table below.
Standard voltage
VOLTAGE SPECIFICATIONTester Connection Condition Specified Condition A36-5 (IGB) - Body ground Ignition switch on (IG) 10 to 14 V - Check the signal waveform between terminal LRDD (A36-3) of the laser sensor and body ground.
OK:
A waveform similar to that in the illustration on the left is output.
HINT:
- Gauge set: 2 V/DIV, 10 msec./DIV
- Condition: Ignition switch on
NG: REPLACE LASER RADAR SENSOR
OK: CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS
