Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK MANUAL DOOR LOCK AND UNLOCK OPERATION 
    1. Check that the manual door lock and unlock function operates normally.

      OK: Manual door lock and unlock function operates normally. 

    1. NG: Go to POWER DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM (See  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING  ) 
    2. OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 
  2. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST (DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR RH) 
    1. Connect the hand-held tester (with CAN VIM) to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch ON (IG) and press the hand-held tester main switch ON.
    3. Select the item below in the ACTIVE TEST and then check that the oscillator operates.

      Smart key ECU: 

      ACTIVE TEST (SMART KEY ECU)

      Item Test Details Diagnostic Notes
      P TRANSMITTER Passenger side transmitter ON/OFF  

      OK: When smart key is brought close to door oscillator that is ON, indicator on smart key illuminates. 

    1. NG: Go to STEP3 
    2. OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 

      REPLACE SMART KEY ECU ASSY 

  3. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR RH - SMART KEY ECU ASSY, BATTERY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the D17 oscillator connector.
    2. Disconnect the S11 ECU connector.
    3. Measure the resistance and voltage of the wire harness side connectors.

      Standard: 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      D17-4 (CLG) - S11-14 (CLG2) Below 1 Ω
      D17-4 (CLG) or S11-14 (CLG2) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
      D17-8 (GND) - Body ground Below 1 Ω
      D17-1 (+B) - Body ground Below 1 Ω

    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 
    2. OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 
  4. CHECK DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR RH 
    1. Measure the frequency between the terminals of the connector when the power switch is operated.

      Standard:

    1. NG: REPLACE DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR 
    2. OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 

      REPLACE SMART KEY ECU ASSY
