Inspection Procedure
- PERFORM ACTIVE TEST BY HAND-HELD TESTER
- Connect the hand-held tester (with CAN VIM) to the DLC3.
- Turn the ignition switch ON.
- Perform the ACTIVE TEST according to the display on the tester.
Transponder key ECU:
ACTIVE TESTItem Tester Details Diagnostic Note SECURITY INDIC Turn security indicator ON/OFF -
- NG: Go to step 2
- OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE (SEE PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE )
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TRANSPONDER KEY ECU ASSY - COMBINATION METER ASSY)
- Disconnect the D33 ECU and E2 combination meter connectors.
- Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

TESTER CONNECTION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION SPECIFICATIONTester Connection Condition Specified Condition D33-8 (IND) -E2-18 (LP) Always Below 1 Ω D33-8 (IND) -Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
- NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
- OK: Go to next step.
- INSPECT TRANSPONDER KEY ECU ASSY
- Reconnect the D33 ECU and E2 combination meter connectors.
- Measure the voltage according to the value (s) in the table below.

- NG: REPLACE TRANSPONDER KEY ECU ASSY
- OK: REPAIR OR REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSY
