Inspection Procedure

HINT:

In case of using the hand-held tester, start the inspection from step 1 and in case of not using the hand-held tester, start from step 2.

1. Check theft deterrent indicator using hand-held tester. 

   PREPARATION: 

   Connect the hand-held tester to the DLC3.

   CHECK: 

   Check that the theft deterrent in indicator comes on in ACTIVE TEST.

   1. OK: Proceed to next circuit inspection shown on problem symptoms table (See  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  ). 
   2. NG: Go to next step 
2. Check theft deterrent indicator (See  THEFT DETERRENT SYSTEM  ). 
   1. NG: Replace theft deterrent indicator. 
   2. OK: Go to next step 
3. Check wire harness and connector between theft deterrent indicator and body ECU, and theft deterrent indicator and body ground (See  HOW TO USE THE DIAGNOSTIC CHART AND INSPECTION PROCEDURE  ). 
   1. NG: Repair or replace wire harness and connector. 
   2. OK: Proceed to next circuit inspection shown on problem symptoms table (See  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  ).
