When using LEXUS hand-held tester:

  1. Check tachometer value. 

    PREPARATION: 

    1. Connect the LEXUS hand-held tester to the DLC3.
    2. Turn ignition switch ON and LEXUS hand-held tester main switch ON.
    3. Select the DATA LIST mode on the LEXUS hand-held tester.

    CHECK: 

    When running the engine, check that parameter value of "Tachometer" changes on the screen of the hand held tester.

    OK: 

    The revolutions displayed on the screen of the tester changes as the engine rotates.

    1. OK: Replace combination meter. 
    2. NG: Go to next Step. 
  2. Check harness and connector between combination meter and ECM (See  HOW TO USE THE DIAGNOSTIC CHART AND INSPECTION PROCEDURE  ). 
    1. NG: Repair or replace harness or connector. 
    2. OK: Go to next step. 

      Check igniter circuit (See  DTC P0351: IGNITER COIL "A" PRIMARY/SECONDARY CIRCUIT  ).
