Inspection Procedure

  1. Check voltage between terminal CAN of cruise control ECU connector and body ground. 

    PREPARATION: 

    1. Remove the ECU with connector still connected.
    2. Turn ignition switch ON.

    CHECK: 

    Measure voltage between terminal CAN of cruise control ECU connector when main switch is held ON and OFF.

    OK: 

    TERMINALS VOLTAGE REFERENCE

    Main switch Voltage
    OFF 10 - 14 V
    ON Below 0.5 V

    1. OK: Proceed to next circuit inspection shown on problem symptom table (See  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  ).  
    2. NG: Go to next step. 
  2. Check cancel switch continuity. 

    PREPARATION: 

    1. Remove steering wheel center pad (See REMOVAL ).
    2. Disconnect the control switch connector.

    CHECK: 

    Check continuity between terminals 3 and 4 of control switch connector when cancel switch is held ON and OFF.

    OK: 

    TERMINALS CONTINUITY REFERENCE

    Switch position Tester connection Specified condition
    OFF 3 - 4 No continuity
    Hold ON 3 - 4 Continuity
    1. NG: Replace control switch. 
    2. OK: Go to next step. 
  3. Check harness and connector between cruise control ECU and cancel switch (See  HOW TO TROUBLESHOOT ECU CONTROLLED SYSTEMS  ). 
    1. NG: Repair or replace harness or connector. 
    2. OK: Check and replace cruise control ECU (See  HOW TO TROUBLESHOOT ECU CONTROLLED SYSTEMS  ).
