Inspection Procedure

CHECK: 

1. Turn the ignition switch ON.
2. Check if the O/D OFF indicator light lights up, when the O/D main switch is pushed ON.
3. Check if the O/D OFF indicator light goes off, when the O/D main switch is pushed again.

1. OK : Proceed to next inspection shown on problem symptoms tables (See  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  ). 
2. NG : Go To Next Step. 

1. NG : Replace combination meter. 
2. OK : Go To Next Step. 

PREPARATION: 

Disconnect the O/D main switch connector.

CHECK: 

Check the continuity between terminals 1 and 3 of the O/D main switch connector.

OK: 

1. NG : Replace and repair O/D main switch. 
2. OK : Go To Next Step. 

PREPARATION: 

Turn the ignition switch ON.

CHECK: 

Check the voltage between terminal ODMS of the ECM and the body ground when the O/D main switch is ON and OFF.

OK: 

1. OK : Replace ECM. 
2. NG : Go To Next Step. 

PREPARATION: 

1. Disconnect the connector of the ECM.
2. Turn the ignition switch ON.

CHECK: 

Check the voltage between terminal ODLP of the ECM and the body ground.

OK: 

1. Voltage: 7.5 - 14 V 

1. OK : Replace ECM. 
2. NG : Check and replace harness and connector between combination meter and ECM, O/D main switch and ECM, O/D main switch and body ground.
